James A. Rolfe
Mr. Rolfe is Of Counsel at Elliott Sauter PLLC, a white collar and healthcare criminal defense boutique law firm he joined in October 2018 following three years as a sole practitioner. Until 2015, he served as Of Counsel with Kendall Law Group, a Dallas, Texas law firm specializing in litigation that he joined in 2009. From 2005 to 2009, Mr. Rolfe served as Of Counsel with Fitzpatrick Hagood Smith & Uhl LLP, a boutique litigation firm. He worked as a sole practitioner in private practice from 1985 to 2005.
From 1981 to 1985, Mr. Rolfe served as United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, having been appointed to that position by President Reagan. From 1979 to 1981, he worked in private practice following his service as Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, a position he held from 1973 to 1979. Mr. Rolfe was Assistant District Attorney for Dallas County from 1969 to 1973. He began his public service in the role of Assistant City Attorney for the City of Dallas, which position he held from 1968 to 1969.
Mr. Rolfe served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College in 1965 where he was a three-year letterman in basketball. He is a past president of Austin College’s alumni association and received its Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2000. He received his law degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1968.
